This section gives you a simple guide to make some small tasks or to change basic settings.
Changing your Explorer home page

Go to the Webpage you want to make your home page. |

On the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click Internet Options. |

In the Internet Options box, on the General tab, click the Use Current button.

Click OK.
Tip: Minimalists, take note—you can make your home page blank, and if you're a person who wants Internet Explorer to start speedily, a blank home page can't be beat. In Step 3 above, click the Use Blank button. Internet Explorer will display a perfectly blank page every time you start up.
Be careful! Some Websites display an option to make their page your default home page. If you select this option, your current home page may be replaced without giving you a warning. To restore order, follow the steps above. |
Changing Firefox homepage
Open up Mozilla Firefox if you haven't already.
Click on TOOLS on the menu bar at the top of the Firefox screen, then click on OPTIONS.
After clicking options you will see the Firefox Options dialogue.
Type the address of the webpage that you would like to use as your new homepage into the box provided and click the OK button.
If it is the webpage you are currently viewing just click the Use Current Page button then simply click on the OK button.
Tip: In Firefox you can also use one of your existing bookmarks as your new homepage.
Transfering images from your digital camera to your computer
1. Switch off your camera.
2. Connect the USB cable from the camera to your computer and switch on the camera.(Figure 1.1). All the necessary software will be installed automatically by the computer. (Figure 1.2)

3. A screen with options will pop-up. Select Open Folder to view files.
4. Now the procedure is similiar to using a normal folder on your computer. You can select and drag to copy files to your computer.
Never remove the card from your camera while it is switched on.
You can use a card reader which you can purchase separately or if you have in-built on your pc or laptop. Refer to Figure 1.3. Repeat procedure as above to copy images. |
